Cole Scharlau
Chairman
Cole Scharlau spent over a decade managing the Lake County Fairgrounds, bringing people together through events, partnerships, and local initiatives. Raised by sports, Cole knows the impact athletics can have on young people. That experience shaped who he is today and drives his passion for giving others the same opportunity.
Cole handles marketing and community engagement for Florida Air, Inc. and King’s Heating & Air, two family-owned HVAC companies serving communities from Clermont to Lake City. A UCF alumnus, he moved to Tavares from Illinois in 1990 and was raised in the same community he still proudly calls home today.
Serving on the WFSF Leadership Council is a natural fit, and he says, “I am proud to support the Warner Family Sports Foundation’s work in making a lasting difference in the community.”
Kathy Workman
Kathy Workman is an acclaimed real estate professional whose distinguished career spans more than 35 years. She has been repeatedly ranked among the Top 1% of Realtors nationally and has earned the trust of thousands of clients. Known for her marketing expertise, strategic negotiation skills, and unwavering commitment to service, she has built a reputation as one of the most respected and results-driven Realtors.
Throughout her career, Kathy has earned numerous industry honors, including the “Florida 100” recognition with Coldwell Banker , Chairman’s Circle, Broker of the Year with Weston Realty Sales, and Coldwell Banker International President’s distinctions.
Her client portfolio reflects her versatility and professionalism, from major corporate clients such as Blockbuster Video, where she worked directly with the Director of International Operations. Other clients included professional athletes and various business professionals in South Florida. Kathy is currently working throughout Sumter, Marion and Lake Counties with Worth Clark Realty.
Beyond her professional achievements, Kathy has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to giving back. She has supported numerous charitable organizations throughout her career, including contributions to youth-focused initiatives. Her belief that strong communities begin with strong families aligns directly with the mission of the Warner Family Sports Foundation.
As a member of the Foundation’s Leadership Council, Kathy brings invaluable insight into community development, regional growth, and strategic partnerships. Her decades of experience, philanthropic spirit, networking skills, and passion for empowering young people make her a powerful advocate for expanding youth access to sports and helping shape the vision for the future growth of the foundation.
Maureen McCosker
Maureen is a strategic, community‑driven leader whose career spans human resources, finance operations, global workforce analytics, and nonprofit governance. As a small business owner, reigning pageant queen, and former nonprofit board member she brings a unique blend of analytical rigor, advocacy, and heart to every role she serves. Her leadership style is rooted in compassion, integrity, and collaboration, values that align seamlessly with the mission of the Warner Family Sports Foundation.
Throughout her career, Maureen has built a reputation for strengthening organizations through strategic planning, operational excellence, and relationship‑building. She is known for her ability to synthesize complex challenges, elevate diverse voices, and create systems that foster long‑term success. Her passion for community uplift and her belief that “it takes a village” guides her work with families, volunteers, and local partners.
As a Leadership Council Member, Maureen brings not only her professional expertise but also her unwavering commitment to helping young athletes build confidence, mental wellness, character, and lifelong skills through sports. She is honored to support the foundation’s mission and to champion programs that inspire resilience, teamwork, and opportunity for all youth.
Lee Bennett
Lee Bennett is a Real Estate Agent specializing in residential real estate in the Greater ORLANDO area, where he helps families find homes that support their lifestyle and long-term goals. A LEESBURG, Florida native, Lee grew up playing football and basketball, supported by a mother who made sacrifices to ensure he had the opportunity to compete. Those early investments led him to play at Leesburg High School, continue at Mercer University, and ultimately reach the PROFESSIONAL level with the BC Lions in the Canadian Football League.
Today, Lee gives back to the game that shaped him by COACHING high school football at The First Academy in Orlando, where he has mentored student-athletes for the past four years. Through his experience, he has seen firsthand how sports can change the trajectory of young people’s lives by providing structure, discipline, resilience, and confidence. His passion for youth development is deeply personal, which makes his role with the Warner Family Foundation especially meaningful. He believes that investing in youth builds stronger communities and future leaders, and he is dedicated to leaving a lasting legacy through mentorship, service, and impact.
Levar Cooper
Levar Cooper is a Central Florida-based entrepreneur and marketing communications executive working at the intersection of technology, organizational transformation, and human experience. He is the co-founder of Frontiera, an AI transformation consultancy that helps Florida municipalities and small-to-midsize businesses adopt emerging technology responsibly and strategically. He also serves as Chief Marketing Officer of HermesMED, a medical billing and clinical intelligence platform built for independent specialty practices.
Levar brings nearly 15 years of public-sector experience to his work, most recently serving as Communications Director and a member of the executive leadership team for Lake County Government. In that role, he led strategic communications across media relations, digital and print design, brand and reputation management, web development, public engagement, and crisis communications.
An award-winning communicator and PMP-certified strategist, Levar is recognized for translating complex ideas into practical, people-centered strategies that strengthen organizations and improve the customer experience. His work is grounded in the belief that innovation is most valuable when it expands human capability, builds trust, and creates a positive impact in the communities it serves.
Cole Barlow
I believe success is measured by the impact we have on the people around us. Whether I'm helping a family achieve homeownership, coaching kids on a baseball field, or volunteering in my community, my goal is always the same—to leave people better than I found them.
I'm Cole Barlow, Branch Leader and Senior Loan Officer of the Mortgage Doctor Team at Movement Mortgage, but those titles are only one part of who I am. At my core, I'm a husband, father, coach, mentor, and proud member of the community that raised me.
I was born and raised in Mount Dora, Florida, and I'm incredibly proud to call Lake Countyhome. Growing up here shaped my values, introduced me to lifelong mentors and friendships, and taught me the importance of serving others. Today, my wife, Sara, and I are raising our family in the same community that helped shape me. Family has always been at the center of my life, and being a husband and father is the role I cherish most.
Professionally, I serve as the Branch Leader and Senior Loan Officer for the Mortgage Doctor Team at Movement Mortgage. I have the privilege of helping first-time homebuyers, growing families, veterans, physicians, real estate investors, and homeowners navigate one of the biggest financial decisions they'll ever make. While I genuinely enjoy the mortgage industry, what motivates me isn't the loan itself—it's the opportunity to educate, solve problems, and help people make confident financial decisions. I believe trust is earned through honesty, responsiveness, and always putting people before transactions.
Serving my community has become one of the most rewarding parts of my life. For many years, I've coached youth baseball through Mount Dora Babe Ruth, helping young athletes develop both on and off the field. I proudly serve on the Leadership Council of the Warner Family Sports Foundation, where I have the opportunity to support programs that create life-changing opportunities for young people through sports and education. I also enjoy participating in Habitat for Humanity building projects because there's something incredibly meaningful about helping a family build a place they can call home.
One of the projects I'm most proud of came through Impact Lending, Movement Mortgage'scommunity outreach initiative. Through that program, I established the Impact Lending Scholarship at Mount Dora Babe Ruth to help underprivileged children participate in youth sports. I firmly believe athletics teach far more than how to win a game. Sports build discipline, teamwork, accountability, perseverance, confidence, and leadership—qualities that shape successful adults. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn those lessons, regardless of their family's financial situation.
Leadership has always been a passion of mine. I enjoy mentoring others, developing future leaders, and building systems that help people reach their full potential. Whether I'm leading the Mortgage Doctor Team, partnering with local Realtors, coaching on the baseball field, or serving nonprofit organizations throughout Central Florida, I strive to lead with integrity, humility, consistency, and a servant's heart.
Outside of work, you'll usually find me spending time with my family and friends, on a baseball field coaching or cheering on young athletes, or exploring everything my home state of Floridahas to offer. From our lakes and springs to our beaches and small towns, I love experiencing the beauty of the state I've always called home.
At the end of the day, I don't want to be remembered for the number of loans I've closed or the titles I've held. I want to be remembered for the people I've helped, the young lives I've encouraged, the relationships I've built, and the positive impact I've made in Mount Dora, Lake County, and throughout Central Florida. If I can leave my community a little better than I found it and inspire others to serve the people around them, I'll consider that a life well lived.
